Enrico Fermi (1901-1954) was a physicist who played a major role in the creation of the atomic bomb and nuclear reactor. He also has the 100th element (Fermium), a group of subatomic particles (fermions) and many other things named after him. He had a natural aptitude for physics and won the 1938 Nobel physics prize.
